End of Term Presentations

Summer presentation evenings are for parents, friends and new students to come and view what each school has been working on throughout the year. You also have an opportunity to speak to the teachers at these informal events. Dates, times and rehearsals are as follows:

Cookham - Pinder Hall - Tuesday 7th July -- 6.15 - 7.00pm (Children needed at 4pm)
Rehearsals - Tuesday 23rd June and Tuesday 30th June -- 4 - 6pm all students

Benson – Parish Hall - Wednesday 8 July -- 6.15 – 7.00 (Children needed at 4pm)
Rehearsals at the school Weds 24 June and Weds 1 July -- 4 – 6pm all students

Bristol – Friday 24 July (rehearsal dates to follow)

Henley – Green Room - Thursday classes – Thurs 16 July -- 6pm (children needed at 4.30)
Rehearsals Thurs 18 and 25 June -- 4.30 – 6.30pm (all students)

Friday classes – Friday 17 July -- 6pm (Children needed at 4.30pm)
Rehearsals Friday 19 and 26 June --4.30 – 7.00pm (all students)

Saturday 11 July -- 11.00 – 12.15 (students to arrive at 9.15 as usual)
No extra rehearsals outside of class times.

PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO CLASSES IN HENLEY DURING REGATTA WEEK 1-4 July

StageWorks Junior Star for a Night '09

SUNDAY 14th JUNE 2009

Star for a Night

StageWorks produce this prestigious event annually at the Kenton Theatre, Henley on Thames. Children aged between 7-16 can enter. Children are put into age categories 7-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-16 year olds. Only 10 acts allowed in each category. You can enter as an individual, a duet or a group. Backing Tracks can be obtained for a fee. Panel of 5 judges. 1st and 2nd in each category and an overall winner who will take home the Junior Star Trophy and £100 prize money.

All entrants must be able to make the rehearsals on 7th and 14th June and also be expected to be at the all day rehearsal on the day of the event. No act to be longer than 3 minutes.

Spotlight Agency

Spotlight AgencyThis year students will be representing StageWorks in the highly recognised Spotlight casting directory based in London. This prestigious contacts directory offers work for young performers in Film, Television, Radio, West End Shows, Commercials and much more.


Henley Youth Festival

HYFStageWorks produce a show piece for this event. Last year the students wowed the audiences with their Country and Western number! This year they will be entertaining the crowds with an upbeat number from Britney Spears!

Emma Jane Taylor will be running a Funky Dance workshop on Thursday 26th March and also Emma Jane will be judging the Senior Dance. For further information on the workshop please contact Michaela Clarke by e-mail michaela.clarke@neomartek.com.

 

StageWorks Christmas Showcases (please see the DIARY DATES for 2009 productions and rehearsals!)

Each year the students at StageWorks work hard towards an end of year show. Last year Henley produced a 60’s variety show, and the students in Benson and Cookham showcased Oliver and Annie. All Christmas Shows are performed in working theatres with a professional technical crew.

2009 sees the Henley students bringing The Wiz to the Kenton Theatre. Benson and Cookham will perform a variety show at the Kenton Theatre.

Summer Presentations

Each Summer every StageWorks school presents an informal production to the parents of the pieces they have been working on since the beginning of the year. It is also a good opportunity for the parents to talk to the staff and any new intakes to watch the open evening.

 

Shiplake Carnival

The students have performed at this local carnival every year since 2005. It is an ideal opportunity for the students to explore their performance and work in a close environment with the general public.

 

HAODS

Emma Jane Taylor regularly choreographs for this society and where possible StageWorks students audition for the current production.  If you are interested in joining the society then please use the links page to access the HAODS website.

 

Director Lloyd White (Henley Drama coach) and Choreographer Emma Jane Taylor (Principal) This show won prestigious NODA award for the chorus work. StageWorks students Olivia Shanahan, Isobel Wright and Cara Wrightson were dancers in this classic tale.
